🧀 Ingredients

For the Nachos:

  • 1 large bag tortilla chips (about 10–12 oz)

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tablespoons homemade mix)

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend)

  • 1 jalapeño, sliced

  • ½ cup diced tomatoes

  • ¼ cup sliced black olives (optional)

  • ¼ cup diced red onion (optional)

For the Toppings:

  • ½ cup guacamole

  • ½ cup sour cream

  • ¼ cup salsa or pico de gallo

  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

🌶️ Directions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Cook the Beef:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat, then stir in taco seasoning and a splash of water. Simmer for 2 minutes, then remove from heat.

  3. Assemble the Nachos:
On a large baking sheet or oven-safe platter, spread out a layer of tortilla chips. Top evenly with half the cheese, cooked beef, and sliced jalapeños. Add another layer of chips and repeat with remaining cheese and beef.

  4. Bake:
Place in the oven and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  5. Add Fresh Toppings:
Remove from the oven and top with diced tomatoes, olives, onions, guacamole, sour cream, and salsa.

  6. Garnish and Serve:
Sprinkle with fresh cilantro, grab some napkins, and dig in while it’s hot and cheesy!
